SEO

There are myths abound regarding search engine optimization (SEO).  Many people believe SEO is primarily about optimizing your web pages to be search friendly.  While it’s true, “onsite optimization” is an important part of SEO, it is only one piece of the equation.

Even more important in search engine algorithms are the inbound links to your site from other sites—also known as “offsite SEO”.  Google, Bing, Yahoo and other engines view an inbound link as validation that your content is valuable, and the more trust authority that the linking site has, the more influence it will have on your rankings.

For example, an inbound link from the New York Times is going to be considered much more valuable than a link from a mostly static, low traffic website.   Of course, not everyone can get a link from the New York Times.

The point is:  the higher the trust authority, the better.  If you’re a local business, inbound links from your local paper or your Chamber can be very valuable.

We created Boomity with both “onsite” and “offsite” SEO in mind.   URLs and pages are optimized to be search friendly.

Likewise, the Boomity platform makes publishing content such as blogs, whitepapers, video, podcasts, ebooks, etc. very easy to do, so that as you develop and aggregate content, you can also more easily get other sites to link to yours because you will be a “hub” of valuable information.
