Welcome and thank you for selecting Boomity. Weâ��ve put together a number of tutorials to help you get the most out of Boomity and build a successful site. These tutorials will provide you with the steps involved show you how to use the major features of Boomity. Feel free to post questions in the forum and we will respond promptly. Introduction: Get Familiar Before you get started, you should familiarize yourself with the functional areas of your site. A member or visitor to the site can navigate the site from the Navigation Bar, which is organized as follows: Home :: Home Page :: Overview Dialogue :: Discussions :: Blog Schedules :: Projects :: Calendars Media :: Documents :: Audio :: Podcast :: Video :: Photo Connect :: Members :: Inbox As the Administrator, you will manage your site from the Control Panel, which is segmented in three parts: :: Admin :: Marketing :: Analytics While each section and the sub-categories are fairly self-explanatory, you may refer to the next tutorial to learn what you can do from each section.

Overview

This tutorial is provided to give you a quick overview of Boomityâ��s functionality and navigation. Individual tutorials on each feature are located in the corresponding sections of the website or may be accessed from the Tutorial Section. Boomity is a very sophisticated, robust marketing platform filled with features and functionality. Although there are a lot of features, weâ��ve organized it so that it is easy to navigate and utilize all of Boomityâ��s functionality. You can access all of Boomityâ��s administrative functionality from the Control Panel (CP) which is organized into 3 sections: Â· Admin: Manage administrative functions such as the homepage, user privileges, navigation bar titles, right rail, etc. Â· Marketing: Manage marketing functions such as events, webinars, email marketing, etc. Â· Analytics: Create reports and analyze data including member info and web traffic trends. Figure 1. Nav Bar Figure 2. Visual Navigation Panel Control Panel: Admin Advertising: Enable or disable control of banner advertising. If advertising control is enabled ($30 per month), you can upload your own banners or use ads from Google or other banner serving networks. Custom Page: Allows you to add additional pages. For example, if youâ��d like to add an â��About Usâ�� or â��Management Teamâ�� page, you can do that from this section. Group Badge: With a Group Badge you can promote your community from other websites or blogs. Click â��Get Badgeâ�� to retrieve the code. Group Masthead: Upload, remove or replace your Group Masthead. Group Profile: Edit your group profile, including group description, welcome message, survey questions and more. Home Page: Edit your groupâ��s home page. Members: Search for members or send out a message to all or select members. Nav Bar Titles: Rename items in Nav Bar. For example, a music band may want to change Calendar to Tour Dates. Right Rail: Control what content you would like to display from the Right Rail. You may feature events, videos, blogs, group badge or widgets. You can customize the appearance in each section of your community including the Overview, Blog, Calendar, Discussion and Media sections. User Privileges: Grant or restrict User Privileges. You can grant access to all Group Features or restrict access to Marketing features only. In order to grant users access to any of these administrative privileges, you must have purchased a â��seatâ�� for them, which is an Administrative license subscription. Control Panel: Marketing Blog: From the Manage Blog section, you can add categories & posts, search for specific blogs, and select what blog you would like to feature. Discussions: Add forums and new topics. Email Marketing: Manage email lists, subscription forms, campaigns, templates, newsletters and more. Events: Schedule and feature events. Media: Upload and feature media including documents, audio, video, podcasts and photos. Online Meetings: Schedule upcoming online meetings or webinars. Initiate real-time meetings. View upcoming and past meetings. Social Dashboard: Manage social media including YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. Sign on once the dashboard will remember your log-in credentials. From the dashboard, you can publish status updates, upload videos and monitor your feed. Weekly Digest: Activate or deactivate the weekly digest, which provides members with a summary of activity for the week. You can also add a custom message. Welcome Email: Customize the welcome message new members receive after signing up. Widgets: Add embed codes from Widgets you would like to use throughout the site. Activate, deactivate or rename them. Control Panel: Analytics Real time web analytics that provide you with detailed reports on your website visitors including how they found you; what keyword, search engine and browser they used; where they are located, traffic trends and more. Group Reporting: Generate activity reports on New Members, Events, Blog Posts and Blog Posts. Reports can be generated as a table, line graph or both. Sign Up: View answers to survey questions asked during the registration process. Web Analytics: Analyze web traffic data and trends.
