4 Ways To Captivate Your Target Market With Webinars
By renee On Nov 28, 2011

We now live in a permission-based culture. No longer do we tolerate interruption marketing, in fact we likely will label this spam. Buyers of products and services want control over what information they consume online. Webinars are the truest sense of permission-based marketing as your leads willingly sign up for your presentation, take time out of their day to pay attention to your information. What more could you ask for?

But why would they do that? Because you are offering something of value to them, this is a critical element, so make sure you know your target market’s pain points and offer them a solution in your webinar.

Webinar Success Strategy #1: Promote The Webinar Everywhere

Get it out there and they will come….just remember, only about half who register will actually attend. It is wise to record your webinar with a screen recording software, then you are able to share the recorded version with those who could not or forgot to attend the live version. Also, make sure you remind them about the webinar via email approx. 1 hour to 30 minutes prior to the webinar start time.

Here are some ideas for gaining exposure to your webinar:

·      Email Marketing

·      Facebook Fan Page/Groups

·      Facebook Events

·      LinkedIn Events

·      Facebook Ads

·      LinkedIn Groups

·      LinkedIn Ads

·      Twitter

·      Blog Post

Webinar Success Strategy #2: Know Your Audience

Ask your audience questions or a survey or have them submit questions before the webinar. You could even create webinars entirely around this concept, called the Q & A webinar. If you just launched a new service or product, this is a great way to get questions answered. However, it can be used for any how-to topic just as well.

Webinar Success Strategy #3: Be Interesting and Be Passionate!

It’s a webinar, so you are contending with everything else that is in the room with your attendee. You need to grab their attention and keep it. We live in a tech-obsessed, constantly entertained society, keep things moving along and throw in some entertainment along the way. Use multiple slides in a powerpoint format. When people see the words on the screen and hear the words you are saying, the message sticks much better. Your voice should be energetic and emphasize certain words. Lastly, pull out your passion card. The way you can do this is by sharing personal stories that relate to the topic. Create visual imagery if possible, people will relate to and remember your message best that way.

Webinar Success Strategy #4: Compelling Content

Don’t waste your audience’s time. Get to the point and over-deliver, your next webinar will thank you for it. Your content must offer real value in an easily consumable way. Don’t be afraid to give away your top tips. By doing so, you are leveraging yourself as an expert in your field. You are building trust and a relationship that drives sales. It also has an inherit reciprocating factor built right in. You give value freely to others, they eventually will feel compelled to give back and buy your product or work with you or refer your business to a friend.

Webinar Success Strategy #5: Crystal Clear Call To Action

Decide ahead of time which type of action you want your attendee to do. Buy your product? Work with you?  Sign up on your site? Sign up for a free trial? Then make sure you drop subtle hints about this throughout your webinar without going into much detail, such as, “…later on we touch on a system we created that will make your life  much easier…” or “…but no worries, if you don’t have the time to do all this, we have a solution….”.

At the very end, spend approx. 5 minutes explaining how your attendees can benefit from your offer and give detailed instructions on what they need to do. Compel them to action by creating a bonus offer if they act now, such as a free report on XYZ, which relates to a common customer’s pain point in your industry.
