Facebook is arguably the most prevalent, most in-your-face social media website in the (brief) history of the Internet. It seems like it’s everywhere, and if the announcement of its CEO is any indication, there are plans for it to actually be everywhere.

It stands in a position that makes it frighteningly useful as a marketing platform. That same position has attracted thousands of other companies and businesses. Anyone who wants to use Facebook as a marketing platform is going to run into a lot of competition, which may or may not be harder to overcome than the users who simply do not care.
 
So, how do you make a big enough impact to turn them around?
 
1. Ads don’t always work
 
Surprisingly, more often than not targeted ads on Facebook don’t actually work very well. They can generate some impact and draw in a small amount of customers, but statistically speaking, they don’t do very well in comparison to other tactics.
